Abstract

SUAREZ ARAUZ, Nicomedes. Does a Bolivian amazonic literature exist?. Rev. aportes de la comunicación [online]. 2014, n.17, pp.99-104. ISSN 2306-8671.

Proposes a vision of the culture of eastern Bolivia as an Amazonian culture and contextualizes it as part of a panamazonian vision. Defines the concept of what it is be Amazonian, referring to its multiple identities, and advocates that the category of Bolivian Amazonian literature and culture be as recognized as is the Andean culture. Advocates for the inclusion of oral indigenous literatures as part of Amazonian literature. Analyzes Raul Otero Reiche's poem, The Forest, as paradigmatic of strategies for treating the Amazonian theme, along with other writers. Confronts the reality of a fragmentary and partial memory of the history of the Bolivian Amazonian lands.

Keywords : Literature; culture; Amazonia; Amazonian; panamazonian; indigenous; Moxos; chimane; José Chávez Suárez; Raúl Otero Reiche; Pedro Shimose; Nicomedes Suárez Araúz; Bolivia.
