Abstract

PRIETO PRADAS, Luis Fernando  and  UNIVERSIDAD DE MALAGA-ESPANA. 2008 World Economic Crisis as the Print Media Informative Treatment. Rev. aportes de la comunicación [online]. 2014, n.17, pp.25-34. ISSN 2306-8671.

In the heart of the 21st Century, thousands of people die every day from malnutrition. In this outrageous situation, silence is a much bigger scandal than all their voices screaming in unison. Silence unashamedly shared by the global mass media in the current communication reality. The essay 'Information Study on the origin of 2008's Global Economic Crisis, according to the National Written Press' (Tratamiento Informativo del inicio de la Crisis Económica Mundial de 2008 según la Prensa Escrita Nacional) intends to raise awareness over the zero account of news feed on this serious and present problem, as well as Humanity's other deep and shameful black spots as the likes of Unemployment and Child Slavery. The 'Global Economic Crisis', a heavy punishment still underway and threatening to become chronic and endemic, has proved to be useful for informational ignorance and therefore the nonexistence ofbillions of people. As the causes are not subject to analysis and, consequently, no one has been fingered as the one to blame, the mass media have been creating a well-defined Public Opinion among the population of the enriched countries. These subjects have been cast into oblivion.

Keywords : World Economic Crisis; Content Analysis; Starvation; Unemployment; Child Slavery.
