Abstract

CHAVEZ GOMES DA SILVA, Natalia. Freedom of expression on TIPNIS conflict in Bolivia trough the social network Twitter. Rev. aportes de la comunicación [online]. 2013, n.16, pp.7-14. ISSN 2306-8671.

The communication platform Twitter is free to access and use. This microblogging tool in Internet has resources that allow the expression on any subject, including those on conflict and social interest. Users can issue opinions, dialogues and interactions with other users and disseminate information related to the conflict so that the right to freedom of expression and information is exercised with the use of this web platform. With this, Twitter becomes an area of public opinion formation. For this investigation, we reviewed the published content in a defined period of time, of twelve Bolivian Twitter users. This was done to determine, under criteria of participation, use of platform resources, keywords and ideas projected in its publications, how Twitter is used for the formation of public opinion on the TIPNIS conflict in Bolivia

Keywords : public opinion; social media; social conflict.
