Abstract

The SARS CoV-2 pandemic that causes Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Covid-19 has so far killed more than 1,585 people in Chuquisaca and infected more than 859,530 in Bolivia and other parts of the world. The data from the epidemiological surveillance system of the Departmental Health Service on mortality in 29 municipalities from Chuquisaca Department were used to conduct timely health impact evaluation from March 1, 2020 to January 31, 2022. In addition, it was observed a fatality rate of 3% with a greater impact in the first wave (6,4%)

Lethality was higher in females with an increasing trend by age.

The data presented in this paper attempts to respond to the increasing number of publications regarding this emerging viral disease. In the Bolivian context, we emphasize evaluations of the epidemiological waves of Covid-19 in the department of Chuquisaca.
