Abstract

Abstract This article examines the category of social representations in the novéis "The illustrious city. Historia de badulaques" (1950) by Tristán Marof and "Portrait of a city with skull in hand" (2010) by Máximo Pacheco. Language is embedded in the structure of novéis, showing us some expressions of knowledge and the linguistic phenomenon, which allow us to analyze the polyphonic nature that both novéis provide. In search of the sociological subtext within the literary text, we find dialogism that makes visible the existing relationship between the centrality and the periphery groups. The methodological strategy based on some aspects of texts structural analysis and bibliographic methods, allows us to recover another category related to the discourse of power, as it is the literary field of the time.
