Resumen

NOYA SOLIZ, Máximo; MENDOZA RODAS, José Luis  y  TAPIA PALMA, Miguelina. EFFICIENCY OF WATER IN BEET PRODUCTION UNDER IRRIGATION METHODS BY CAPILLARY AND DRIP. Rev. Cien. Tec. In. [online]. 2020, vol.18, n.21, pp.65-101. ISSN 2225-8787.

Climate change effects on agriculture are intensifying causing significant losses in production because of adverse climatic factors that occur in important phases of crop development such as drought. This is affecting not only agricultural crops butalso the loss of water sources. Considering that agricultural crops require water throughout their production process, which must receive the vital liquid naturally or artificially, in this concern this research seeks to determine water efficiency through the use of an experimental design of a block with two treatments and its repetition, in which, treatments with drip irrigation and capillary irrigation systems are implemented in beet crop. The results show a water saving of 30% in (T1 and RT1) in the whole beet production process with respect to (T2 and RT2) and an average water efficiency according to formula of (Salazar & Rojano, 2014) of 67% in (T1 and RT1) compared to 33% in (T2 and RT2), thus demonstrating the water efficient use in the capillary irrigation system compared to drip irrigation.

Palabras clave : Capillary; irrigation; efficiency of water.
