Abstract

The disability has multiple causes that are not only related to health, and itself constitutes a challenge of a complex approach, since the social, economic, environmental, religious, and political components will determine its understanding, its treatment, and its historical course. This paper intends a multidimensional approach and comprehension. The aim of this paper is to build a review from researches made in Chuquisaca, Bolivia. The findings show that the Chuquisaca counties, where Treveris Foundation works, the mental disability and other problems regarding neurodevelopment are the highest in Bolivia. This fact asks for a genetic research of the disability as well. The paper concludes that it is important to make institutional alliances and have a transdisciplinary approaches in order to deal and solve such a problem.
