Carpal tunnel syndrome is a condition caused by compression of the median nerve that is often found in dentists due to the adoption of forced manual positions, repetitive movements, use of vibrating tools and wrist-hand pressure. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of carpal tunnel syndrome in occupational origin dentists in the city of Sucre in 2016 management. The type of study was descriptive cross-sectional, conducted in dentists working in Sucre. The diagnosis was made by symptoms: pain, paresthesia, numbness, dysesthesia, numbness, tingling inthe hand and fingers among others, and Phalen tests and Tinel and studies and electromyography nerve conduction. The results showed that found symptoms associated with the presence of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome as statistically significant. The prevalence of carpal tunnel syndrome, according to Phalen tests and Tinel reached 29.7% and according to studies and electromyography nerve conduction was 7.8, with higher prevalence in females, with more work experience to 20 years, more than 6 hours of work, and over 45 years old
