Abstract

Introduction the research targets postural alterations in children from 8 to 12 years. The research was made in Teresa Bustos de Lemoine elementary school in the Sucre, during 2015. The Corporal Posture is a conceptual category, essential in the Physical Culture. It is, also, a complex and multidimensional functional system, attached, among others, to the following factors: Individual features of the personality. The physical activity that the individual carries out. The aim of the study is to identify postural alterations, taking into account the proposal of the corporal biomechanics of Kendall in children of both genders from ages 8 to 12. Material and Methods, the research is descriptive, with a quantitative focus. The used theoretical methods were deductive, historical, and documental, Hypothetical analysis. Empiric methods: Open observation and the measurement supported based on interviews picking-up general data. The used instrument was the record of evaluation postural of adapted Kendall and the Test of Krogh - Paulsen. 138 children from 600 students were interviewed. The main findings have shown that the central alterations are located at level of superior and inferior members (Shoulder Postures, Ankle Valgus, and head and neck positions) accompanied with a number smaller than dysfunctions in the column and in the Temporo Mandibular articulations. The conclusions evidence that important postural alterations were found on evaluated children; this shows the necessity to intervene in experiences, given future investigations the importance of corporal biomechanics in this stage of the human development.
