Resumen

ENRIQUEZ, Luis. The Other Work: Legal Analysis of the Labor Situation and Social Conditions of Sex Workers (SW), in the City of Sucre. Rev. Cien. Tec. In. [online]. 2016, vol.12, n.13, pp.727-738. ISSN 2225-8787.

The recognition of labor rights and social benefits in favor of those who exercise sexual activity merits a broad analysis and legal study of the conditions in which sex workers work. Knowing the legal situation in the constitutional, labor, health and social security subjects of people who opt for sex work, as a subsistence alternative and source of employment, is extremely important when trying to break down the genesis, details and characteristics of sex work itself, especially given the difficult economic situation that most of the women are experiencing, radically victims of family abandonment. The enactment of certain laws such as a "Special Law for the Protection of Women's Rights", the long-awaited "General Retirement Law without distinction of employment" or perhaps modifications to the current "Pensions Law" will be the ideal place to achieve improvements in favor of sex workers, however, there are still a number of questions to be solved, among them, are there recognized rights for sex workers? Is there an employment relationship in sex work? Will the interrelation of governmental institutions allow greater opportunities for the group of sex workers? These questions of non-limiting nature are intended to be developed throughout this article.

Palabras clave : Labor Rights; Social Benefits; Prostitution; Sex Work and Sexual Worker (SW); Social Security.
