The article aims to determine the relationship between emotional dependence and depression in students of a National University. Basing the research methodology on a descriptive level, quantitative and correlational approach. The design is non-experimental and cross-sectional. Having a sample of 128 university students, ages are 19 to 29 years, the sampling was non-probabilistic, using the IDE instrument of Aiquipa (2010) in Emotional Dependency and for the Depression variable, the BECK questionnaire (DBI-IIA) adapted by Carranza (2011). Within the results obtained, the general hypothesis is confirmed, finding a significant relationship between emotional dependence and depression, where students have the need to have a partner.
