Abstract This article is a reflection on the object of study of psychology. It is an approach that distances itself from the simplifying and deterministic linear theories that characterize the main currents of modern psychology. An alternative perspective that is based on the paradigm of life is considered. In this framework, we seek to understand the psychological life of the ethical-critical subjectwho builds and lives his sense of life in a community stressed by social asymmetries, in which he seeks to create spaces of self-realization by hiding a social system that seeks to depersonalize it.
