Abstract

SANCHEZ LIMA, Claudia Noelia.   Resilence and Alcohol Abuse Behavior in the Psychology Department students from UMSA. Revista de Psicologia [online]. 2018, n.20, pp.11-27. ISSN 2223-3032.

Abstract This is a quantitative correlational study of transversal design that intents to identify the type of relationship that exists between the resilience and alcohol abuse in university students, on a sample of 224 students from the Department of Psychology of San Andrés University. The resilience test was applied using the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale quiz and alcohol abuse through the AUDIT test. The outcome of the study allow us to state there is a negative type of relationship between both variables, that is, as far as the resilient behavior is developed, the comsumption and alcohol abuse is dropped. At the same time, it was observed that the students show resilience over the average rate; so a great percentage of the students have developed the ability to overcome or become stronger after living troublesome situations, and most of the interviewed students do not exhibit comsumption risk or tendency towards alcohol abuse.
