Abstract The article analyses the consequences of living in a country with a multidimensional crisis with serious psychosocial consequences (social suffering, predominance of negative emotions and their correlation in physical, psychological and social life, increase of uncertainty and anguish). In general loss of well-being and quality of life of all Venezuelans but specifically the university sector is analysed. Thus twenty two active and retired professors from public and private universities were interviewed, seven of them now live outside of Venezuela and gave their testimony on howthe crisis has affected them and what have been their strategies for resistance. The purpose of examining this group is to give special attention to the university sector and to show the efforts and suffering of these heroes who, in spite of the crisis that hit hard the universities that oppose the political position of the government, continue to give the best of themselves regardless of the deterioration of their wor-king conditions, personal finances and physical and emotional well-being. This work has three parts, the first reviews articles from the countries' leading scho-lars who are trying to define this period of crisis within its economic, political and social dimensions. The second part takes into account several researches carried out on the emotional environment and the impact of the crisis in Venezuelans and then analyses psychosocially the relationship between crisis and university professors. It is proposed a perspective of analysisthat is committed with the fundamental premise of political psychology. The last part presents the conclusions.
