Abstract

LOPEZ HARTMANN¹, Rodolfo. Experiences with a Bipolar disorder and depression support group. Revista de Psicologia [online]. 2016, n.16, pp.103-107. ISSN 2223-3032.

Abstract After six years of experience in the organization, formation and coordination of a support group for patients and families with bipolar disorder, we present an analysis and review of the methodology applied, together with lessons learned from the experience of working directly with an appreciable number of patients with affective disorders. We conclude that even with only a personalized observation and follow up of the cases, there is a beneficial effect for patients and families, reducing relapses, enhancing compliance with treatment and an overall improvement of their quality of life.
