Abstract

PENARANDA ARIAS, Diego Leonardo  and  PENARANDA ADRIAZOLA, Leonardo Oscar. Pevaluatión of the quality perceived in the masters courses in a private institution of higher education. Revista de Psicologia [online]. 2015, n.13, pp.9-25. ISSN 2223-3032.

The following research arises as an answerto the growing social demand to reveal the quality perceived of the masters' programs in higher education institutions that offer this type of postgraduate courses; forthis purpose, one ofthe objectives of this research isto develop and apply a quality instrument ofthe quality perceived MASTERQUAL to students who have taken the decision of continuing their studies at a postgraduate level. The relevant research instrument concepts ofthe investigation are: Reliability, understood as the quality to measure repeatedly times with the same accuracy what actually measures an instrument whose coefficient sets values between 0 and 1; and validity, understood as the degree to which an instrument actually measures the variable that it pretends to measure. Following the validity and reliability ofthe instrument, the test was administeredto a total of 138 students who are pursuing various masters' degrees ofthe Social Area, Exact Sciences Area, and Financial Management Sciences of a private university in La Paz city. It has statistically been shown that there are differences in the levels of perceived quality among the academic mentions of each mastery, as well as for the ones from different master's programs.

Keywords : Quality; validity; reliability; Social Demand; Masterqual.
