Stress and professional identity are subjects that relate to the corporate world. The contemporary world in which we live has made that work occupies a very important place in our daily lives. Therefore it is important to study the role that work plays in the identity of each individual. Work will certainly have a great influence on the form that the identity of a person is going to take. The profession practiced by each individual isn't free from tensions related to requested tasks and working conditions in general. This research proposes to examine identity related to stress carried out in a Guatemalan company specialized in production of cement, Cementos Progreso S.A.. The study tries to explain identity mechanisms related to stress, from a production worker of the same company by using the methodology of ego-ecology, the multistage investigator of social identity (MISI).
