Abstract

CAAMANO CAAMANO, Jacqueline; HERNANDEZ VASQUEZ, Rosa; LIZANA NAVARRO, Juan  and  LEAL SOTO, Francisco. ¿Qué hace la diferencia?. Historias de vida de jóvenes psicológicamente vulnerables con Buena Adaptación Escolar. Revista de Psicologia [online]. 2012, n.7, pp.112-133. ISSN 2223-3032.

Although psychosocial vulnerability and school failure go hand in hand, there are children and young people who achieve a successful school adjustment. The traditional approach on this issue has been to study risk factors and protective factors from the perspective of resilience, butthe construction process of adaptation has been less studied. In this paper, we investígate that process through four life stories. We found that the construction process is facilitated by the transformation of the difficulty into challenge and by the opportunity to build cióse ties with significant others, eventually in the school context, among others

Keywords : Psychosocial vulnerability; school adaptation; resilience; life stories.
