The history of medicine in Bolivia is a fascinating topic that requires an interdisciplinary approach. This article analyzes the development of Bolivian surgery during its “golden age”, spanning approximately two decades in the first half of the 20th century, a period marked by significant scientific advancements. It examines the surgical procedures of the time, the impact of foreign influence, and the crucial role of healthcare personnel. The research employs the historical method, utilizing primary sources from specialized libraries, data analysis, and cross-referencing, offering a fresh perspective on Bolivia’s medical history.
