MATAS MUSSO, Josefina Leonor; VAZQUEZ RIVERO, Jorge Alejandro  and  VILLENA VALLE, Guido Adalberto. The Restoration of the Temple of San Ignacio de Mojos: Preservation of a Cultural and Spiritual Legacy. Rev Cien Cult [online]. 2025, vol.29, n.54, pp.53-73.  Epub June 30, 2025. ISSN 2077-3323.

The temple of San Ignacio de Mojos, founded in the 18th century during the Jesuit missions, is a symbol of local history and spirituality. Originally, it facilitated evangelization and united various indigenous communities, strengthening their identity. This work focuses on the restoration of the temple in the 20th century, a community effort that preserved its structure and reaffirmed cultural memory. This process integrated indigenous rituals with Christian practices, promoting social cohesion and local pride. Thus, the temple became a central axis in the cultural and social life of the community, reflecting its resilience and unity.

Keywords : Cultural identity; temple of San Ignacio de Mojos; Amazonia; restoration; Community.
