Abstract

ENRIZ, Noelia; GARCIA PALACIOS, Mariana  and  HECHT, Ana Carolina. Intercultural Bilingual Education Schools in Chaco and Misiones During the Covid-19 Pandemic. Rev Cien Cult [online]. 2021, vol.25, n.46, pp.89-108. ISSN 2077-3323.

This article analyzes the impact of the covid-19 pandemic in Intercultural Bilingual Education schools in two provinces of Argentinean northeastern (Chaco and Misiones), where indigenous populations Toba/qom and Mbyá-Guaraní attend. The empirical material that supports this study was gathered through a reformulation of the usual ethnographic techniques. During the context of social distancing that prevented face-to-face contact with people, we conducted interviews and online surveys on three different occasions with indigenous and non-indigenous referents and teachers, and we also considered educational materials and reports published on websites.

Keywords : Intercultural Bilingual Education; indigenous teachers; Argentina; virtual ethnographic techniques; Mbyá-Guaraní; Toba/Qom.
