This article analyzes the typological units of Tarabuco textiles, called luto aqsus, to identify and systematize the design components of these pieces. For this purpose, three textiles corresponding to three Tarabuco communities, are studied and compared through a semiotic and iconic analysis, from the perspective of graphic design. On that basis, the elements involved within the textile production are contextualized and investigated in order to collect, compare and record information on Tarabuqueño textile. In addition, a methodology is proposed according to the characteristics of the cultural pieces.
