Abstract

NERI PEREYRA, Juan Pablo. Ideology and Revolution: Rethinking the Contemporary Politics and Critical Thinking in Light of May 68. Rev Cien Cult [online]. 2018, vol.22, n.40, pp.9-29. ISSN 2077-3323.

Based on a critical reflection of the events of May 68, this text discusses the ideology and the crisis of left-wing criticism, which has taken place since at the end of the 20th century. This reflection takes as a starting point the critique of Lacan of the student revolts in Paris, to contest poststructuralist and post-colonial thought. From this discussion, the article proposes a critical reading of how, in the present day, both social research, and criticism itself, reproduce the hysterical discourse that Lacan attributed to the students in 68. Thus, it proposes to revisit the critique of ideology, in the light of some fundamental proposals of Marxist anthropology.

Keywords : May 68; poststructuralism; psychoanalysis; subalternity; marxism; ideology; anthropology.
