Abstract
MANSILLA, H.C.F.. Critical annotations on political philosophy in Bolivia. Rev Cien Cult [online]. 2017, vol.21, n.39, pp.123-143. ISSN 2077-3323.
Critical review of the Bolivian essay within the framework of the history of ideas. It starts by evaluating the pre-Columbian cultural heritage and continues with the colonial production, centered on the San Francisco Xavier University. With the advent of the Republic, the general imprint of Bolivian essays would be forged around classical issues, such as the collective identity of society, appropriate models of social ordering and complex links with developed countries. The twentieth century is marked by the presence of the two main figures of intellectual positions with respect to the national profile: modernizing liberalism (Alcides Arguedas) and nationalist telism (Franz Tamayo). The article ends analyzing the theoretical and ideological developments of the second half of the 20th century: telism and indigenism (Roberto Prudencio and Fausto Reinaga), nationalism (Augusto Céspedes and Carlos Montenegro) and Marxism (René Zavaleta Mercado).
