This work follows up in Bertonio’s Vmythical and religious urests or refers to a language. ocabulario de la lengua Aymara the entries referring or commen- ting the myth of Tunupa to point out their special lexical and semantic features representing the different mythical and religious aspects of the Aymara people. Bertonio’s intent, argues the author, was to use these religious believes in order to facilitate the Indians conversion to Catholicism, all in accordance with the evangelization program stated in Lima’s Ecclesiastical Councils
