Abstract

VELASQUEZ GUZMAN, Mónica. The irreverent happiness of writing: Wislawa Szymborska poems. Rev Cien Cult [online]. 2010, n.25, pp.25-34. ISSN 2077-3323.

This essay browses over the lines of Wislawa Szymborska poetic thought, which unveils the horror of the world and of words, but at the same time is able to laugh at this horror with relentless clearness. Facing an authoritative world where death and persons vanishing are daily facts, this poetry offers the only possible resistance: that of a half saying, half concealing word.

Keywords : Polish poetry; resistence; silence; irony.
