Abstract

Panoramically the article summarizes the history of music in Bolivia, going step by step the problematic and complex interweaving of the two central cultural aspects of musical training Bolivian western music and sound different cultural expressions of indigenous cultures that occupied the territory Bolivia, not only in the pre-Hispanic period, but in the Republican and the twentieth century. The problematic nature of this mixture led to the adoption of different approaches and positions, sometimes conicting, marked by the biggest names Bolivian musical composition, for which the author tries to keep the necessary balance and synderesis.
