This article reviews Adela Zamudio’s the public figure: the impact of her polemic texts, her presence in a newspapers debate, the later honors she was granted with in order to assess her importance as a woman writer in the cultural and political Bolivia of the early XXth century. Reading some texts of Zamudio, the author argues that the veil, as an image present in her witing, can be taken as a metaphor of her writing.
