Historically and psychologically, the notion of love relationship transforms itself and changes with times and depending on the region. In this sense, this study focuses on defining the concept of love in the Huayño dance, the most representative and ancient dance of the Aymara culture. To respond to the objectives, as a qualitative study tool, in-depth interviews are conducted with directors of Bolivian folkloric stage dance groups who have more than twenty-five years of experience as dance scholars. In the Huayño dance, during pre-colonial times, love is simply fatuous or foolish, since it was linked to passion, and less, to commitment. In contemporary times, the meaning of love is dominated by the sense of commitment and intimacy, it is then a love of companions. The noticeable division between the pre-colonial and contemporary times, and the evolution of the concept of love between them, marked by the arrival of Spanish colonization, is the result of this research conducted around the Huayño dance.
