ACARAPI APAZA, César. Assessment of the risk of violence against the partner at the beginning of the complaint for family violence through the SARA. Ajayu [online]. 2023, vol.21, n.2, pp.192-208. Epub 31-Ago-2023. ISSN 2077-2161. https://doi.org/10.35319/ajayu.212237.
The probability of future occurrence of violent behaviors against the couple is called risk of violence, which increases at the beginning of the complaint of the criminal process for family violence, its assessment being important at this stage but the regulations do not include it, nor does it consider its assessment of the defendants pertinent. The objective of the investigation is to determine the probability of the risk of future violence in those accused of family violence. The study is descriptive cross-sectional, the sample is non-probabilistic made up of 20 men reported for family violence before the Prosecutor's Office. The SARA (Spouse Assault Risk an Assessment) was used as an assessment instrument. Despite the scarce documented information of those reported at the beginning of the complaint for family violence, a probability of high risk of violence against the couple is established at 25%, 40% present a moderate risk of violence and 35% a risk of low violence But, as it deals with the assessment of the risk of violence at the beginning of the criminal process, there are no data on real recidivism, so these results are subject to confirmation.
