Abstract

This research shows the case study of a 23-year-old young man in the city of La Paz, Bolivia, who would have suffered a love breakup within 1 year. This research is qualitative and the semi-structured interview was used as a research method to achieve the objectives set. The research determined as its main objective the description of the love breakup process of a 23-year-old man. As a result of the research and from the analysis of the subject's discourses, the following three major ones were found: First, the category of autonomy was observed, which was novel, since in the various investigations autonomy is not taken into account as a very influential factor within the love break, but in this case it had a lot of weight as a motivation for the break with the couple, considering that it harassed him by shortening his freedom; Second was the category of coping strategies, in which it could be seen that the subject mostly used a strategy focused on the problem, since he normally avoided expressing his emotions by performing different activities that take him away from that stressful situation; The third category was love breakup, which encompasses all the causes and emotions emanating from the breakup, here it was possible to show the constant manifestation of guilt on the part of the subject for having hurt the ex-partner, however, the subject also manifested of A great relief, as you no longer have to lie to your partner to avoid conflict and to be able to return to your activities before the relationship.
