In a context where we experience political, social, economic, technological, cultural transformations, youth has undergone some alterations regarding their attitudes towards marriage, divorce and their relationship to the concept of love so it was investigated in a sample of 225 young university students from the Psychology career of two private universities in the cities of La Paz-Bolivia and Iquique-Chile. Where two instruments were used one to identify attitudes towards marriage and divorce from (García y Reyes, 2007) and the other to identify the concept of love according to the Love Scale of (Sternberg, 1986). Results show that the kind of love in young paceños is the love of peers (I+C) obtaining 44,3% in intimacy and 43,0% in commitment wich means that there is intimacy and commitment of friendship in the long term, as in marriages without passion. While Iquiqueños have a type of romantic love (I+P) obtaining 62,3% in intimacy and 57,3% in passion is most physical and emotional attraction, but without compromise. On the other hand, with regard to attitudes towards marriage and divorce paceños young people have a favorable attitude with 46,8%, that is, they totally agree with the factor openness to divorce, however, young Iquiqueños have an unfavourable attitude with 50,7%, that is, they totally disagree with the vision factor of traditional marriage.
