BORDA RIVEROS, Nelly; EYZAGUIRRE ROJAS, Leonardo Arturo  y  PONCE VALDIVIA, Freddy Andrés. SELF-CONTROL, WORRY, HOPELESSNESS AND SOCIOECONOMIC LEVEL IN A CONTEXT OF COVID19 PANDEMIC. Ajayu [online]. 2021, vol.19, n.1, pp.59-89. ISSN 2077-2161.

The present study seeks to delimit the individual psychological impact in a context of a pandemic due to the Covid19 disease. This disease has caused a crisis throughout the world that has impacted socially, economically and psychologically on people. For this research, the psychological impact will be measured through three variables that are self-control, worry and hopelessness. Self-control will refer to that adaptive ability to maintain self-control or control over their actions. While worry will be a state of recurring thoughts and uncertainty and hopelessness will consist of a negative vision of reality. However, this will also take into consideration the socioeconomic level of the person as a protective or risk factor to generate anxiety or depressive characteristics. This work will be framed as a quantitative investigation of the descriptive and correlational type, which takes into account a sample of 427 participants from the City of La Paz, Bolivia between 18 and 83 years of age. This study shows that self-control is negatively related to hopelessness and worry. In addition, other individual factors such as income, occupation, age and academic training will be found as elements that influence the development of worry or hopelessness.

Palabras clave : Self-control; worry; hopelessness; socioeconomic level; Covid19.
