Partner violence is a growing phenomenon worldwide; Bolivia has some of the highest data in Latin America regarding violence against women, mainly within the context of couples. This phenomenon according to some studies begins during the courtship stage at which time, aggressive relationship patterns will be established that could be normalized and perpetuated over time; despite this data, there are no valid instruments adapted to the Bolivian context to evaluate dating violence. For this reason, this research shows the validation of Dating Violence Questionnarie-R (DVQ-R) in a sample of 430 university students from La Paz city. Language adaptation, validation by experts and confirmatory factor analysis were carried out, finding that the DVQ-R has the psychometric properties necessary to evaluate this phenomenon in youth from five domains with reliability values ranging from .729 to .901.
