Resumen

MEDINA CATACORA, Mariana  y  PINTO TAPIA, Bismarck. SOLUTION FOCUSED THERAPY APPLIED TO A CASE OF BULIMIA. Ajayu [online]. 2018, vol.16, n.2, pp.341-374. ISSN 2077-2161.

In the present study we tried to describe the application of the techniques of Solution Focused Therapy to a case of Bulimia. Techniques such as exceptions, compliments, externalization and deconstruction were used. Solution Focused Therapy is considered to be effective in the intervention of eating disorders because of the importance this model gives to the client's objectives, which is essential due to the resistance in this type of interventions. Throughout the therapy eight sessions were performed for eight weeks. The final results of the treatment showed a decrease in the symptoms of the client and, above all, a reestablishment of resources for the confrontation of their problem and the sustainability of the change. Throughout the intervention we worked with different techniques that potentiated the client's resources. Through the compliments was able to legitimize skills that the client already presented. In the same way it was possible to strengthen situations in which the problem did not appear through the exceptions. With the technique of externalization, it was possible to intervene in predisposing factors of its symptomatology such as isolation. Finally, the use of the technique of deconstruction allowed the client to discover the sources from which her prevailing discourse came, in which the concept of beauty was linked to thinness.

Palabras clave : Solution Focused Therapy; exceptions; compliments; externalization; deconstruction.
