TABOADA, Rossana y PINTO, Bismarck. NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL EVALUATION IN TWO CHILDREN WITH DISABILITY AND HYPERACTIVITY DISORDER: CASE STUDIES. Ajayu [online]. 2018, vol.16, n.1, pp.81-121. ISSN 2077-2161.
The research was conducted with two children diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in the city of La Paz, Bolivia. Considering the importance of an adequate and reliable diagnosis for an adequate work in neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation, we ask: What are the neurocognitive functions of two children diagnosed with ADHD from a neuropsychological evaluation model? With an opportunity sampling, the Child Neuropsychological Assessment Battery and Lefèvre neuropsychological examination were applied, creating an evaluation model and finding that both children presented difficulties at the level of the executive functions, generating an information processing model for each child and an individualized rehabilitation program. It is proposed that ADHD in children develops as a symptom when presenting the same indicators in children with childhood depression. Since the difficulties encountered were originated by the prefrontal area of the brain still in development, so the ADHD must be diagnosed from 10 years of age to 15 years.
