Abstract

LORA, María Elena. Racism Today. Ajayu [online]. 2017, vol.15, n.2, pp.127-132. ISSN 2077-2161.

From Psicoanalysis perspective and Lacan's teachings, Segregation is a discourse phenomenon and it is thought as an effect of the reorganization and power of science; the latter combined with universalization of the capitalist discourse introduces one of the crucial problems of civilization, racism; as Lacan points out in Television "... the precariousness of our Joy when the Other can not place it." Miller, in his seminar "Extimité" refers to the hate towards the Other's Joy, and its from this enunciate that one can locate the basis for Racism. Before this reality, a drive to explain these phenomena from human rights perspective or from the legislations like "all are equals in the eyes of the law"; thus being all equal among them, however different from us, it only deepens the presence of racism and the violence contained within. The proposal of the text: Is to address some references in Freud's and Lacan's works about hate, racism, as segregative phenomena that allow the processing leading to the “death drive”. (i.e: spanish: pulsión de muerte).

Keywords : Segregation; Racism; Hate; extimité.
