AGUILAR DURAN, Leonardo Andrés  e  CASTELLANOS LOPEZ, Marilyn Yisneida. CHILDHOOD PERFECTIONISM: A LITERATURE REVIEW. Ajayu [online]. 2016, vol.14, n.2, pp.162-226. ISSN 2077-2161.

Although little has been studied, evidence has revealed the role of perfectionism in the mental health problems of children and adolescent. This article is a theoretical review about childhood perfectionism. It consists of three parts: the first presents -in successive order of appearance- the instruments used to evaluate perfectionism in this population, including for each of them its description (i.e., items, dimensions, response format), construction process, psychometric properties (i.e., validity and reliability) and additional data (e.g., availability of protocol and adaptations, if any); in the second part, the findings and conclusions of the most important research conducted within each measurement framework of childhood perfectionism are presented; in the third and last part, the general and specific strategies for treatment of insane perfectionism in children are reviewed. This paper provides, in our opinion, a recent, clear and fairly comprehensive perspective -especially in the case of studies in Spanish- about the state of knowledge with respect to the subject here treated.

Palavras-chave : childhood perfectionism; personality; psychological evaluation.
