Abstract

PONCE SAKURAY, Cecilia Akemi. Love relationships in japanese descendants. Ajayu [online]. 2014, vol.12, n.2, pp.207-226. ISSN 2077-2161.

This research was conducted with the main purpose of describing love relationships in Japanese immigrants’ descendants in La Paz City. Based on the identification of the love concept, the difficulties and facilities they went through at the time of beginning the love relationship, and also the kind of love stories to which couples belong. Using information obtained from semi-structured interviews, studied under thematic, phenomenological and descriptive analysis. The research was based on the Sternberg theories: the Triangular Theory of Love and the Love Stories Theory. Within results, beyond the objectives achieved, the existence of the “Amae” concept was identified into the love relationships of couples and the identity of the participants, both descendants and Bolivians. It was concluded that the factors taken into account, which conform the love relationship, are linked with each other. In other words, the identity and the love referent have repercussions specifically on the conflict, love expressions and values. Likewise each factor articulates with others, linking interacting with one another, the kind of love story and the love referent of the participants, the values and the referent with couple’s expectations as the love expressions.
