Abstract
TRAMONTANO, Carlo et al. PSYCHOSOCIAL DETERMINANTS OF SATISFACTION WITH LIFE: A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS IN BOLIVIA AND ITALY. Ajayu [online]. 2012, vol.10, n.1, pp.101-131. ISSN 2077-2161.
This study present an extension of a previous study developed by Steca and colleagues (2009) aimed at investigating the role of some psycho-social determinants of satisfaction with life in Bolivian and Italian youth. In particular, univariate ANOVA analysis and a structural equation model was implemented on data derived from two samples of college students, to simultaneously test a theoretical model proposed by Caprara (2002) in the two countries. Results did not highlighted relevant differences among groups in terms of mean values of variables. Nonetheless, our findings confirmed the expected path of relation, attesting the relevance of emotional self-efficacy beliefs in influencing social self-efficacy beliefs that, in turn, foster individuals evaluation of their satisfaction with life. This contribution represent an useful attempt to increase the comprehension of phenomena extensively investigated in Anglosaxon and European context, but not yet sufficiently tested in Latin-American reality.
