Abstract

The aim of the present paper was to offer a landscape of power and empowerment processes in two forestry oriented campesino communities, located in the Amazon area of northern Bolivia. The investigation, a qualitative one, allowed to local socio-economic actors to think about political issues concerning functioning of campesino organizations, and its sustainability. The autors described local empowerment characteristics in the context of conflict relationship, explaining it through constructs such as own beliefs, values and manners and customs, influenced by social alliences, impregnated of prebendal attitudes and political corruption.
