Abstract

Motivation arises from the existence of a need that has to be satisfied. This internal state is taken in account to determine the dancer’s motivational factors of the folkloric parade of Gran Poder. The approach multidisciplinatory of the Fundamental Human Needs of Max Neef was considered during this investigation. He develops his theory from the different lacks and human dissatisfactions. Likewise, the matrix proposed by this author is dynamic because the interaction among: needs, satisfactors and the economic wealth. By another hand, Gran Poder parade is one of most important cultural demonstrations of La Paz city. This party arose from a Catholic celebration to become in a party of ostentation and competition between brotherhoods; because participating in it involves economic and social prestige. Which can be appreciated in the most representative dance: the morenada? This investigation explains the motivational factors of the dancers, who participate in the folkloric parade of the Gran Poder, like satisfactor of needs.
