MACHICAO ARAUCO, Adriana y AILLON SORIA, Susana. FORTALECIMIENTO DE FACTORES PROTECTORES DE LA RESILIENCIA EN EL ÁMBITO COMUNITARIO EN MUJERES EN SITUACIÓN DE VIOLENCIA DOMÉSTICA. Ajayu [online]. 2009, vol.7, n.1, pp.1-27. ISSN 2077-2161.
This article includes two important subjects: resilience and domestic violence, where both interrelate from internal and external protective factors of every person, but also of every community. To be resilient means to value oneself, establishing possible goals to reach according to one´s surroundings, having fruitful social relationships, and determining the proportions of problems and adverse situations, such as, domestic violence - which in Bolivia is one of the greater and most common forms of aggression towards women. Throughout this article, it will be shown that these two concepts are related, since being a more resilient person, it is possible to diminish the effects and consequences of domestic violence, based on the development of pillars and resilient components in peoples daily lives. Furthermore, this article becomes even more important because it relates theory to the institutional practice in CIDEM (Information and Women´s Development Center) , corroborating the possibility to encourage factors that protect people from adversities. Key words: Resilience and domestic violence.
