The present paper analyzes the social change process as a psychological factor of development in community settings. With that purpose, it is revised the conceptual foundations of classical perspectives from different models and paradigms. The paper also makes a differentiation between these models and the authors interactive proposition, dealing with two stages in the model of change: implantation and assimilation, exploring its empirical strengths.
