The objective of this report/investigation is to uncover/describefears andbelievesamong women victims of domestic violence and despite the agression they continue theco-existance with the agressor. This investigation was conducted at 'La Brigada de Proteccion a La Familia - Zona Central de la ciudad de La Paz'. This institution is where themajority of domestic violence reports are filed. One of the requirements forwomen participating in this investigation was, beingvictims witha history of abuse reported at the same 'Brigada', this factproves the uneffectiveness of the methods utilized to help the victims on previous ocations. To study the different fear factors a profile was constructed taken into consideration the six most frequent fears. For the study of the believes an adaptation of the study by McKay& Davis was utilized. Afterbothinstruments of analysis were applied to the 40 cases that met the requirements for this investigation, the results were analized and interpreted. In this analysis was determined that the most frequent fears are, physical retaliation, fear of loosing custody of the children and financial abandonment. In the same manner the most irrational believes are that ' One mustfeel fear andansiety to the unknown and potencially dangerous', 'the believe of outside factors are out of our control' and 'It is easier to avoid problems in life than to face them'.
