The study aims to quantify the budget allocated to climate change in Bolivia for the period between 2019 and 2023. To achieve this, the methodology proposed by Guzmán (2022) is employed, allowing for a sectoral, institutional, and program-level classification of the climate change budget within the General State Budget (GSB). The results reveal a decrease in the climate change budget, dropping from 3% to 1.4% as a percentage of the GSB during the mentioned period. Furthermore, it is observed that, on average, the budget allocated to activities contrary to climate change constitutes 19% of the GSB during the same period, surpassing five countries in the region: Argentina, Colombia, Jamaica, Mexico, and Peru. These findings underscore the lack of financial support for climate change-related public policies by the central government. Conversely, a substantial budget is allocated to economically polluting sectors such as mining and hydrocarbons.
