MENDIETA OSSIO, Pablo. Building the economic science: behind the contributions of the Nobel Prize winners. rlde [online]. 2022, n.38, pp.121-145.  Epub Nov 30, 2022. ISSN 2074-4706.  https://doi.org/10.35319/lajed.20223847.

Economic science as such is a recent field of study since it is less than three and a half centuries old as such. From being initially a philosophical discipline, it currently has logical and mathematical tools that distinguish it from other social sciences. Its current character was forged mainly by the contributions of economists of the last hundred years. Since 1969 the Nobel Prize in Economics has recognized the contribution of those who created these models of thought. Also, it credited the discoveries made that made economics a science. This article reviews how his contributions have shaped economic knowledge, providing a global view ofscience and its trends.
