Abstract

QUITRAL ROJAS, Máximo. Crisis of the Subsidiary State and the Chilean Student Movement. An analysis from the Framing Theory. rlde [online]. 2019, n.31, pp.135-157. ISSN 2074-4706.

During the first presidential term of Sebastián Piñera, the Chilean students opened a cycle of mobilizations, which had as a main reason the crisis of the subsidiary State. Although it is not the only variable that explains the origin of the university movement of 2011, this work intends to analyze the framing process proposed by the students as, a fundamental variable for its appearance. In the first part, a brief conceptualization is made about framing and social movement, to explain then role of the subsidiary State in interpreting the crisis of the university movement.
