Abstract
IBANEZ VEIZAGA, Fabricio Fernando and ESPINOZA VASQUEZ, Lourdes. Estimation of the "Morhing Effect" on the Puma Katari Mass Transport System of La Paz City. rlde [online]. 2016, n.26, pp.9-44. ISSN 2074-4706.
The current document attempts to establish the possible presence of the "Mohring Effect" on the Puma Katari mass transport system created by the Municipal Government of La Paz on 2014. It begins estimating the utility function, as established on the theory of discreet elections and McFaddens theory of random utility (1974), which incorporates differences on the trip costs, times and wait times as well as the socioeconomical characteristics of an user group. As a result, three Probit models are estimated with two alternatives: Puma Katari Bus and Other transport mode, concluding that there are no evidences that support the presence of the "Mohring Effect" on said massive transport system.
Keywords : Mohring Effect; Transport System; Random Utility.
