Crime in Latin America in recent years is the subject of much debate due to its high growth experienced in the last decade. The UN through UNDP ranks Latin America as the region with the highest crime rate. As Bolivia belongs to this region is interesting to see the causes behind the growth of crime rate. To view the various causes which this paper investigates the relationship between a set of explanatory variables and various criminal activities in the country. The paper tries to test the different correlations between these variables, besides through a spatial econometric model we will exanimate whether there is a diffusion or contagion effect between different regions of the country.
